Start a code club,
The easiest way to bring computer
programming to your library
KIDS + TECHNOLOGY + MENTORSHIP =
Every librarian says they LOVE the idea of running a code club, only to be followed with a list of reasons why they can’t run one. We’ve built a program that guides coders through a self-learning process while freeing you up to do what you do best.
In the tech economy, computer programming skills are worth their weight in gold. If we can teach the next generation to code, we’re gauranteeing they’ll have a job for the rest of their life. Will the next Facebook come from your code club?
Kids have fun while they learn to code. They’ll come back to the library week after week to continue working on their websites, games, and apps. It’s collaborative, fun, and kids love it.
It doesn’t take a software expert to run a code club. Learning is self-guided and all the content is online. You’ve got an important role (and we’ll train you on that), but it’s easy. We promise!
See a code club in action in this short news clip:
Shawn Flecken, Librarian
“I started a Code Club a few months ago. I didn’t know much about coding, but I found that there was nothing to be nervous about. Prenda provided everything I needed to get up and running.”
Carter, 12-yr-old coder
Computer programming lets me go wherever I want to. It’s like freedom. Now I build websites for my friends.
Sarah Prosory, Librarian
Code Club is our best-attended program. I’ve never seen a return on investment this good on any other youth library programs.
Marrisa Ramirez-Ramos, Mom
“My son Cruz looks forward to Code Club each week. He has stuck with it for over a year now and he’s more interested than ever.”
